About Steinmeier

Who we are

Steinmeier Estates is a neighborhood of 330 homes located in Washington Township in Indianapolis Indiana.   Construction of Steinmeier Estates was approximately complete in 1966 on farmland that belonged to the Steinmeier family.  In 1966 Steinmeier was considered a premier suburban neighborhood (well before I-465 and the development of Castleton), and continues to be one of the premier neighborhoods, now urban, of northeast Indianapolis.

The Steinmeier Neighborhood Association was begun in 1966 and has always been a vibrant and active association.  Inexpensive annual dues set by the board (currently $35 – $50 per year) pay for snow removal, entryway upkeep, social events, newsletters, a directory, and insurance.  There are many activities throughout the year – Ice Skating Party, Easter Egg Hunt, Garage Sale, 4th of July Parade, Annual Summer Blast All Neighborhood Party, Halloween Party, and Holiday Luminaries and Caroling.

Steinmeier is a fantastic neighborhood full of families of all kinds.  Sidewalks run throughout the neighborhood, homes are well maintained, and the trees are mature and diverse.  The location offers easy access to downtown, Broad Ripple, and a back door to the Castleton and Keystone mall areas.  Great public and private schools, pools, churches, and sports clubs are all nearby.

Where are we located?

We are in northeast Indianapolis, Indiana.  The boundaries are 75th Street to the north, 71st Street to the south, Allisonville Road to the west, and Irvington Avenue to the east.
